Impaired ventricular filling limits cardiac reserve during submaximal exercise in people with type 2 diabetes, says a study reported December 19 in Cardiovascular Diabetology. These individuals had a smaller increase in cardiac output during steady-state semi-recumbent exercise caused by an attenuated increase in stroke volume.
